IN Biotoilets

Our Biotoilet range has several models for cottages, holiday homes and permanent residences. They are all odorless and easy to care for.

Raita IN Biotoilets have been developed in Finland. They are intended for use inside buildings (IN) - to function odor-free and hygienically.

The operation of the Biotoilet is based on the composting process. It has been reinforced with Biotoilet's technical solutions; humidity, air circulation, temperature and nutrients are right for the biodegradation process.

They are easy to use, keep clean and empty. We use compost litter (e.g. DryMix) as an additive, which is dosed after use. Composting is effective - the end result is 2-3% odorless compost after 8-10 weeks. Maintenance is easy with the changing cart (or changing container) and the compost is ready when it is emptied.

Composting, emptying.
Emptying is easy and odorless. Take the van/container to the desired emptying location and empty it. If necessary, use two or more vans/containers. Through composting, the waste becomes odorless and naturally becomes compost, soil.

ECO | SEP | ECOSEP - different liquid treatment methods, their advantages

Our selection includes an ECO seat and a urine separating SEP seat.

The ECO seat does not separate, but all the liquid goes into the compost. On average, 95% of the liquid can be evaporated with composting. The excess liquid is removed from the bottom of the compost tank to the waste water (note: the waste water system must also be sized for this treatment), to the evaporation unit or to the liquid collection tank.

The SEP seat separates the urine. Urine can be collected and used as liquid fertilizer. If there is too much urine to be used, it can be directed to the back of the compost container (ECOSEP), where a large part of the liquid's moisture and nutrients are used in composting. The excess liquid that is separated in this way is still bacteria-free.

In practice, the SEP seat slightly increases the need for cleaning.

About the amount of urine and its processing:

A person urinates on average 1-2 l/day. Urine can be used as a liquid fertilizer when it has matured for about 6 months and when used it is diluted 1:9 with water. For storing urine, we also have larger collection tanks in our range.

A little background on several options in our selection:

We have developed and manufactured environmental toilets since the 1970s (models TARA, EV, Bio toilets). There are tens of thousands of compost biotoilets we have developed in Finland, Sweden and other parts of Europe.
